Deciphering the terms of BDSM

As you can see, BDSM is packed with English terms. Whoever holds the power, staying “on top”, is known as the top and whoever is in the lower power scale is the bottom. Sadists, considered tops, are those who enjoy applying physical punishments to feel pleasure. Masochists, who are bottoms, like to feel pain. In turn, submissives are also a type of bottom and prefer to obey their partner. The dominators, who are also tops, like to rule.

In fact, many people wonder if there is a right way to be submissive or submissive. The answer is no. It is possible to be submissive without being a masochist, just as it is possible to be a dominator without being a sadist. It is also possible to vary: a top may like to be a bottom from time to time and vice versa. These people who prefer to switch roles are known as switchers.

Roleplay is a super important part of BDSM and means roleplaying. It is in the scene that practitioners will exercise their roles. Many beginners, to discover their preferences, take a BDSM test, which will point out their greatest affinities within this universe. The internet is full of these tests, the best known being BDSMTest.org .

As we’ve already given a brief spoiler on the topic above, fetishes are an essential part of BDSM. If you’re hornier in some not necessarily sexual detail than in sex itself, you might be a fetishist. And if that fetish involves dominating or being dominated, inflicting or feeling pain during sex, you too can be a BDSM believer! Or are you vanilla or “vanilla” who doesn’t like anything BDSM has to offer? The most common fetishes are explained below :

Bondage, CBT and Dogging

Bondage: any type of movement or sense restriction applied to the partner can be called bondage. Usually, ropes, handcuffs, gag tapes, blindfolds, and whatever else imagination and security allow are used. The pleasure is in the feeling of vulnerability that the restriction will provoke. The shibari is how the Japanese bondage became known, which has more elaborate bonding techniques with specific ropes for the practice, as we see in the video above. In Brazil, shibasrista Toshi San is a reference in practice. A more recent trend in the world of gay male pornography is superhero bondage; the submissive dresses up as a character and is tied up and humiliated by the dominator, who may also be characterized as a villain.

CBT, or genital Torture: CBT stands for ‘cock and ball torture “, or” chick torture and balls. ” Punishments can be applied with pegs or staples, erection restriction, kicks in the bag, punches, candle wax (wax play), even shocks and needles. Therefore, it is a fetish considered more extreme and whose security concerns need to be greater.

Dogging: having sex outdoors can be part of BDSM practices as long as it includes domination or sadism with the partner. It can be pleasurable to tell the sub to accept sex in public places or force it to watch you showing off and having sex in these places, which often include people in and out of cars, at drive-ins or on the street. In Brazil, there are several “manjados” places to do dogging, such as empty streets, parks and squares. Exhibitionism and voyeurism (the pleasure of watching other people have sex) are fetishes that go hand in hand with dogging.

female domination or femdom

Female Domination or Femdom: The dominatrixes, also known as dominatrix, dommes, or mistress make magic happen with partners who idolize her and recognize her superiority. There are many submissive men adept at the practice, but there are also submissive women who enjoy the dominant women, including the practice of lesbian idolatry is quite common. In addition to orders and punishments, dominatrixes can exploit other fetishes.

Podiatry, which we’ll talk about later, is popular in femdom, which can also include trampling. Some subs like the Mistress forbid them from having an erection, masturbating, and penetrating, either with orders alone or with chastity belts. There are also fetishists known as tame cuckolds, who like the dominator to have sex with other people. This can all be combined into a personal or professional relationship, which in this case is exercised by pro-dommes, who perform the fetishes of their slave money upon payment. Facesitting, feminization, and inversion are also closely related to femdom, but we’ll talk about them later.

Facesitting, feminization, and fisting

Facesitting: The fetish is widely practiced in the context of femdom, but it can also happen in others. In it, the partner literally sits on the partner’s face for oral sex, and in BDSM, play often includes a bit of choking. If the person on top has a penis, the sub may be required to do a deep throat. Facesitting can evolve into other “parts” and include asslicking. On the internet, it is quite common to find facesitting with illustrations by Japanese artist Namio Harukawa, which portrays bulky women dominating submissives much smaller than themselves.

Feminization and Inversion: they are part of the femdom universe explained above. In feminization, the submissive is ordered to dress as a woman, wearing clothes, lingerie, makeup, wigs, shoes… Some call feminization sissification or crossdressing, which can also be practiced in non-sexual contexts. Also, inversion can be part of that game or not; in it, the submissive is penetrated, either by a partner with a penis or by a strap-on (or “scissors”).

Fisting: Receiving a fist fuck, meaning being penetrated by the entire hand, wrist, or forearm, is a common preference among masochists. I don’t think I need to mention that it should be done with great care and consensus, right? It can stimulate areas hitherto unknown by the person receiving it, whether in the vaginal form or in extreme anal practice, and enhance the feeling of fragility in front of the person who is penetrating.

childishness and humiliation

Infantilism or Age play: in this fetish, whoever is in the bottom position will act and/or be characterized as a younger person, whether a child or a teenager. Roleplay takes place with obedience to a “mother” (mommy domme), “father” (daddy dom), or any figure characterized as an older and more experienced person. This person will be educated or disciplined to obey the dominant’s varied orders, such as cleaning up a mess or eating food. Here it is worth commenting on brats, which are the rebellious bottoms, who disobey their tops and use tantrums to get punishments. Do you know the typical scene of one person being beaten in the lap of another? It represents the brat essence well.

Humiliation: The fetish, also known as humiliation, involves exposing the sub to degrading situations, which may have other people in the audience to heighten the sense of vulnerability. In pornography, it is very common to find videos of submissive women being humiliated and exposed in various situations, such as walking or walking on all fours in a busy place wearing very little (or no) clothing. Or even being touched or forced to have sex with several people, to perform gangbang (sex with three men or more). Also, another fetish that is very present in humiliation is bukkake (receiving semen from several guys). Petplay or animal play

Pet play or animal play: practitioners act and/or are characterized as animals, usually dogs, cats, and horses. In this fetish, latex clothing and accessories, such as collars and dildos that mimic tails, often enhance the animal’s appearance. The games can include walking on all fours, drinking and eating from small bowls, picking up objects with the mouth, and even being “ridden” by the dominator. The honorable mention here goes to the furry fetish, in which people characterize themselves as animals wearing plush costumes and which is gaining in popularity. However, it is worth remembering that furry fans can be fetishists or not. In the case of BDSM, the “pets” usually take on the role of acute submissive or a domineering predator.

Podiatry and scat

Podiatry: foot worship is a more common possibility in the femdom universe. An idolatry session may even have no other actors involved, the submissive being allowed to touch only up to the domme’s ankles and worship her beautiful feet. Foot addicts may prefer small or large feet, with or without high-heeled sandals, clean or dirty (they may even like to clean them with their tongues), smelling or smelly feet, or receiving footjobs.

Scat: this weird fetish is the most controversial on this list and doesn’t just include feces, as many people tend to think. Scat adepts can enjoy the golden shower, swallowing or not their partner’s pee, as well as other possibilities such as vomit and other bodily fluids.

Spanking and Sugar Daddy

Spanking: can be done by hand, paddles, whips, or other objects. The practice is most common in people’s vanilla routines. For it to be considered BDSM, everything will depend on the context and intensity. In BDSM relationships, spanking is like foreplay: fundamental. The bottom may be tapped as a form of discipline, or a long and intense spanking session as a form of punishment.

Sugar Daddy or Sugar Baby: it is worth mentioning in this list precisely because it has become more popular in recent years with the economic crisis, the growth of communities dedicated to sugar relationships, and porn in this category. In most cases, it is made up of a woman in the baby position and a man in the daddy position, but it is also common to see such relationships between two men. When a sugar relationship also involves BDSM, the top, in addition to financially supporting the relationship, will also enjoy bossing, disciplining, or punishing the baby.
